According to Education Support’s teacher wellbeing index survey last year, 89 per cent of senior leaders reported that they were stressed.

As a school leader, how do you prioritise your own well-being in the same way you prioritise school improvement or the well-being of your team?

In this workshop, we explore the challenges of leading schools and balancing leadership demands and the perception of building resilience and capability through the lens of an  ‘abundance’ rather than ‘deficit’ well-being model. We consider resilience as an attribute that can be learned and improved upon to increase our capacity to navigate through challenges and change. This session encourages school leaders to place their well-being at the heart of their school culture to help develop a sustainable leadership approach in which they can advance and thrive.

Aims
•    Explore the rationale and importance of protecting our well-being as school leaders
•    Lead by example through prioritising your own well-being
•    Recognise and respond to specific challenges and pinch points
•    Explore a range of key actions and interventions for building resilience
•    Increasing your own well-being capacity to support that of your SLT and the organisation
•    Embedding your own commitment to wellbeing in practice

•    Looking after yourself first to sustain and build effective productivity and capability
