The four largest teacher and leader education unions in dispute with the government are working together to coordinate their ballots and any action that would follow, should necessary thresholds be achieved.

We know that staff in a single school will often be represented by different unions, as teachers and leaders choose the union that feels appropriate for them. However, we are equally aware that when it comes to something as significant as considering industrial action, solidarity and mutual support are essential.
We’re asking staff in every school in England to hold a staff meeting of teacher and leader union members during the week beginning 19 June, so eligible members in all four unions can consider the current dispute, discuss how to maximise turnout, and encourage members to return ballot papers.

We believe that this show of solidarity and unity should give many staff the confidence that the education profession really is standing shoulder to shoulder over the fight for the future of education.
