Department for Education seeks five more Flexible working ambassador MATs and schools (FWAMS)

The Department for Education (DfE) recently appointed seven Flexible working ambassador multi-academy trusts and schools (FWAMS). It is now launching a second round of the competition to recruit a further five:

  • three to be appointed on a regional basis – in the North East, East Midlands and West Midlands,
  • one dedicated to supporting AP/PRU settings (applicants for this role must be an Alternative Provision/Pupil Referral Unit), and
  • one school to support MATs and schools in areas of high disadvantage. (applicants for this role must have higher-than-average percentages of pupils eligible for the deprivation pupil premium).

Ambassador schools and trusts will support the delivery of a culture change programme through offering bespoke support, producing practical resources, and engaging in awareness activity.

The DfE-run grant competition to appoint these ambassadors is open for applications until 12 noon on 21 July (applicants will need to register with the DfE's e-tendering portal, Jaggaer, to submit an application.)

Interested schools and MATs should email FlexibleWorking.RESOURCES@education.gov.uk  if they have any difficulties accessing this opportunity. All questions about the grant competition itself, or a request to organise a conversation with one of the team regarding the opportunity, should be submitted via the Jaggaer portal.
