Fringe events at NAHT Annual Conference on Friday 2 May 2025
International Committee fringe event
Join NAHT’s International Committee at a dynamic and engaging event where you’ll connect with fellow members and explore the union’s vital international work. This is your opportunity to network, discuss pressing global challenges and take action towards a fairer future for education – both at home and worldwide.
Hear from members of NAHT’s International Committee and our international secretary as they highlight key areas of our global efforts, including:
- climate change and just transition,
- the rise of the far right, and
- solidarity with school leaders in conflict zones.
This is more than a conversation; it’s a call to action. Share your insights, be part of the movement and stand in solidarity with school leaders across the world.
Gather in the Queen’s Foyer, Harrogate Convention Centre, from 5.30pm on Friday 2 May, and the meeting will start at 5.45pm. Refreshments will be available on arrival.
Register here to let us know you’ll be attending.
As a union we are committed to internationalism – the international trade union movement is the largest civil society organisation in the world, and we have a vital role to play as a leadership union within that movement. Key areas of work we have engaged with to date include refugee rights, trade union oppression and climate change.
We have an International Network for members to get involved with our international work – including international solidarity initiatives, key events and the ways NAHT is influencing the international agenda.
If you are not yet a member of the NAHT International Network, join now.
NAHT equality networks session
We are pleased to be hosting a dedicated Equality Networks session at this year’s Annual Conference. Proposed by our members, this session will bring together colleagues from across our Leaders for Race Equality, LGBT+, Disabled Members’ and Women’s Networks. It will include speakers, updates on NAHT’s ongoing EDI (equality, diversity and inclusion) work and the opportunity to network and connect in person.
This is a space for conversation, collaboration and solidarity. We look forward to welcoming you.
The event will take place on Friday evening, immediately after the close of conference at 5.30pm. We’ll be gathering from 5.45pm to 6.45pm in the Queen’s Suite, Room 2, Harrogate Convention Centre – the same space as the Officials’ Briefing. Refreshments will be available on arrival.
Please note the event is reserved solely for members of an NAHT equality network at Annual Conference.
Advancing equality, diversity and inclusion is central to our work as a union. Our equality networks are at the core of this work, providing a platform for members with shared lived experiences to connect, support one another and shape NAHT’s EDI priorities.
If you’re not already a member of one of NAHT’s equality networks, find out more about them.
