The conference theme this year is 'Navigating leadership' and we have an agenda to support school leaders as you steer schools through still and troubled waters.
We are pleased to announce our guest speaker for Thursday 15 May, Marie Gleeson, former Irish Navy Captain. Marie shares her military leadership experience to inspire and educate on decision-making, resilience, and team performance and overcoming challenging.
Rachel Hogan from the Children’s Law Centre will lead the session ‘Human rights – a guiding light’, empowering school leaders with the legal perspective on special educational needs, while Safer Schools NI will help you navigate the social media minefield.
The minister of education, Paul Given MLA, and the chair of the Education Committee, Nick Mathison MLA, will share their thoughts on the future of education and Ian Hartwright, NAHT head of policy, will join Barry O’Rourke and Sean Fearon from ETI in a conversation about inspection.

Save the date: NAHT NI Early Years' Conference 2026
Following the huge success of the NAHT(NI) Early Years' Conference held last month, we are now announcing the dates for the 2026 conference.
Members can choose to attend the conference, along with their staff team, on Thursday 5 or Friday 6 February 2026. The conference is repeated over the two days in the Hilton Hotel, Templepatrick.
The conference will focus on optimising children's brain development through physical and sensory play and will be led by Dr Sinead Davies, Brain Box NI and Ciara Collins, SpaceKraftNI.
