This new one-day workshop focuses on the practical elements of conducting appraisals effectively. This means understanding what is good practice and what makes appraisals fair and developmental. There will be an opportunity to explore some of the challenges presented when giving appraisals - in particular, how do you deal with the reactions from staff when you give constructive feedback that is or may be perceived to be critical of their performance? Dealing with difficult conversations is a skill that is key to supporting and developing staff.
