NAHT's annual conference: postponed

Our annual conference, set for 7 to 10 May 2020, will no longer take place as planned. It would not be sensible to proceed with the current health crisis.
Cardiff City Hall, the venue for NAHT's 2020 annual conference, has cancelled all its events bookings for the foreseeable future. So we would need to source an alternative venue even if the government lifts restrictions on social distancing before the planned date.
We are currently looking at what options there are to hold our annual conference, or a version of it, in the autumn term; we will let you know as soon as possible about revised arrangements.
If you have already booked travel to Cardiff, please cancel it, and if you have any outstanding booking fees to pay, please claim in the normal way. Partner tickets will be refunded.
We intend to observe the handover of presidential duties, and we will have more details about that process shortly. Tim Bowen will assume the role of vice president.
For the next several weeks, NAHT's focus will be on helping its members to deal with the school-level response to the coronavirus outbreak. We have diverted all the effort that we would have put into organising our annual conference into that important work.
We want to thank delegates, officials and exhibitors for their patience and understanding during this challenging period.
Also, to let you know that we have changed the dedicated advice line number for NAHT officials that we gave out last week. The number is now 01444 472417 and should be used from now on.

Travel expenses

Finance and personnel committee will allow reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses for voting delegates (mileage or standard class train). Ticket receipts must be provided with your expense form. If driving, only the driver is entitled to claim mileage and car parking will not be covered. We encourage car sharing.
