NAHT president, Ruth Davies speaks at Annual Conference 2020

After some of the most challenging months school leaders have ever faced, Ruth Davies addresses Annual Conference 2020. Ruth delivers a sincere message of thanks to school leaders across the country who have gone above and beyond to serve their communities. ‘You’ve held communities together. Held them together at a time when so many of you will have been bogged down by your own circumstances, challenges and worries. That is phenomenal work. Thank you.’

Ruth also introduces our charity partner, Diversity Role Models and outlines the integral work they are doing to support the inclusion of all children and young people. 'Through their work in schools, Diversity Role Models look to embed rights and respecting behaviours and values into the everyday life of the school. I have been hugely impressed and influenced by their work. I'm delighted that DRM is NAHT's official charity partner this year.'

Jac Bastian (head of education at Diversity Role Models) has written a blog outlining the challenge of standing firm on rights-respecting behaviours and policy in face of opposition, which you can read here.
