Equality, diversity and inclusion calendar 2022

Being mindful of diverse holidays, events and celebrations – and opportunities for inclusion – can help to create workplaces, schools and communities where everyone feels included.

For the second year running, NAHT has developed an equality, diversity and inclusion calendar, which highlights important equality, diversity and inclusion dates that occur throughout the year including holy days, religious festivals, health and well-being awareness days as well as specific education-focused equality events.

You’re welcome to use the calendar in whichever way you feel is most helpful.

It may, for example, be helpful to use the calendar to:

  • plan and deliver subject-relevant lessons
  • give to pupils
  • feature in an Assembly
  • display around the school
  • use for an INSET day session

Here are just a few suggested dates for the 2022 school calendar!

  • February 7-13: Children’s mental health week
  • March 20: International day of happiness
  • April 28: World day for health and safety at work
  • May 15: International day of families
  • June 20-24: School diversity week

These suggestions are all noted in the 2022 calendar and are just a taster of the calendar and its contents – we hope it will make interesting and enjoyable reading.
