NI schools struggling with unprecedented staffing pressures as pandemic continues

Covid continues to cause unprecedented staffing pressures within Northern Ireland’s schools, with many of our members finding it harder and harder to obtain substitute teachers.

While school leaders continue to do everything they can to keep classes open, they also have a duty of care to ensure the health and safety of all pupils and staff, which includes maintaining safe levels of staffing.

We have therefore created this sample letter which NAHT(NI) members can use to inform parents of the measures they may have to implement.
