NAHT’s LGBT+ Network is an informal group for our LGBT+ members. The network is led by members, for members.
The network helps amplify the voices of our LGBT+ members within NAHT, as well as providing support, information and networking opportunities. Members of the network also have the opportunity to participate in the wider work of NAHT – this includes engaging with our policy discussions with government, representing NAHT at campaigning events and feeding into discussions and decision-making with other sectors in the union, such as the Diversity and Inclusion group (DiG).
Facilitated by NAHT, the network meets online every half term, with the option to engage in a busy WhatsApp group that's used regularly by many of the network members.

What do members of the network say about it?
"It was great to meet so many other LGBT+ school leaders. To know you're not alone, know others are facing the same challenges, but also share the same passion and enthusiasm for children, education and making a difference."

Network projects
NAHT flew the flag at last year's Pride celebrations. On Saturday 1 July 2023, members of the NAHT LGBT+ network marched alongside NAHT allies and staff – and an estimated 30,000 other people – at Saturday’s Pride event in London. See more here.
This national NAHT presence in 2023 was followed by regional attendance at Bristol Pride on 8 July and Newcastle Pride on 22 July, Manchester Pride on 26 August and the Channel Islands Pride on 16 September.
