With the aim of embedding an Anti – Racist School Culture this course will provide an opportunity to share in detail an ‘Allyship Toolkit’ and ‘Anti-racism Toolkit’, both of which can be successfully applied in various school - based contexts.

This course will also outline strategies and sample materials supporting school leaders and classroom practitioners in tackling online racism and online abuse.
This course will also aim to improve school leaders’ confidence when working with families/individuals to resolve the challenges associated with responding to and tackling racism.

The benefits of restorative approaches will be explored in this context.

 

Audience

Headteachers, Deputy Head Teachers, Assistant Head Teachers, Phase Leaders, PSHE Leads.

Aims

  • have the tools and strategies available to support your school embed its positive ethos and Anti - Racist Culture
  • have an enhanced understanding of how to better tackle incidents of on-line racism and abuse
  • will be supported in resolving the challenges associated with successfully tackling racism with greater confidence.

Delegates will be able to apply the learning gained from this interactive session taking away highly supportive tools and strategies.

Patrick Wilkin

A sessional Education Worker with 34 years’ experience within the primary education sector, including 20 years as a Headteacher leading schools in the diverse areas of South Leeds and the West End of Newcastle.

Patrick is committed to the vital role education plays in developing young people with positive attitudes to diversity and equality.
