Education Support

We’re the only mental health charity that is dedicated to teachers and all education staff. As well as being mental health experts, we really understand the unique challenges of working in the education sector.

Working in partnership with organisations like the NAHT, we support individuals and help schools and colleges to improve the mental health and wellbeing of their staff.

We also carry out research and advocate for changes in Government policy for the benefit of the education workforce.

Our 2021 Teacher Wellbeing Index, conducted annually with YouGov, revealed that;

  • Levels of stress and anxiety remain unsustainably high
  • Excessive workload and lack of work-life balance remain key drivers for poor mental health
  • A consistently high percentage of staff consider leaving the profession
  • Staff are concerned they will be perceived negatively if seeking support for mental health issues

We make a real impact on the lives and well-being of school leaders, teachers and education staff through our services. Last year, we provided direct support to 15,200 people working in education and worked with over 1000 schools and colleges.

As an NAHT member, you can access a dedicated, confidential counselling and support helpline on 0800 9174055 provided by Education Support.  Open 24/7, it is staffed by qualified counsellors and offers you emotional and practical support.

Do you want to create lasting culture change for your school - one of community, acceptance and hope? We can help. Check out our resources and start your school culture transformation today.

Our fully funded school leaders’ services offer wellbeing support and development for leaders. These services will help you be the most effective leader possible, sharing new strategies and perspectives that will benefit your whole school community.

Our Employee Assistance Programme gives your staff confidential support and guidance just when they need it most. The benefits of improved colleague wellbeing will be felt throughout your organisation. Please get in touch to find out more about putting it in place at your school.

Our confidential grants service is here to help you and your staff manage money worries. In the last year we have provided grants to over 400 people, helping to keep them in their jobs and in their homes.

As a charity we can’t provide these vital services without the generous donations of our supporters. Please could you donate to help someone when they have nowhere else to turn? Thank you.
