NAHT(NI) is holding two pension seminars for members on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 November. Non-members are also welcome to attend. While providing information on how to create a better work-life balance, such as part-time working, job sharing and how reducing your working hours will affect your final pension, you will be given guidance on how to calculate/estimate your final pension if you retired at your normal pension age or earlier. You will receive information on the flexibilities available within the Northern Ireland Teachers’ Pension Schemes (both pre and post-2015 schemes) that may help you to improve your pension. In addition, details of all the retirement options available within the Schemes will be covered. A representative from NAHT Partner, Skipton Financial Services will also be in attendance to give a short presentation on the services that they can provide to members, both pre and post-retirement. The seminar should prove useful to both those who are considering retirement and those who wish to plan changes in their employment leading up to retirement. So, no matter what age you are, it is never too soon to start planning for your future. The seminar will refer to the annual benefit statement, so delegates are advised to bring with them a copy of their latest statement (issued earlier this year) to understand some of the information provided, including the estimation of pension. At the end of the seminar, the speakers will be available to discuss individual questions with delegates. NAHT member fee: £30. Non-member fee: £40. Ticket price includes refreshments.
