Successfully preparing for Relationships Education and Health Education in Primary schools

NAHT has partnered with the PSHE association (the national body for PSHE education) to deliver this comprehensive course for primary senior leaders and PSHE leads looking to successfully implement new statutory Relationships Education and Health Education requirements. 

This one-day course will explore the new statutory changes, in detail, their place within the primary PSHE curriculum and what constitutes effective teaching and learning. Expect a wealth of practical tips and plans to share with your school stakeholders and advice on avoiding potential pitfalls.

Delegates will also receive a year's organisational membership of the PSHE Association (worth £120) giving each member of their school access to all member benefits, including latest guidance, quality teaching resources and ongoing support.

Objectives

  • A thorough understanding of the statutory changes to PSHE education from September 2020 and the implications for their school
  • A clear vision for PSHE education in their school, including the new statutory elements,
  • An understanding of policy requirements and support for ensuring policies are up to date and fit for purpose
  • An understanding of safe and effective practice principles for teaching and learning and support for cascading this to colleagues in school
  • An overview of engaging teaching and learning activities and resources
