Paul Whiteman, general secretary of school leaders union NAHT, said:
"The last increase in pension contributions tipped schools into crisis so we welcome the government’s recognition that any further increases must be fully funded, and that school budgets are already stretched to breaking point. This funding must cover both England and Wales.
"Everything that can be cut from schools budgets has already gone. Only new money from the Treasury will solve the funding crisis. This new increase in pension contributions must be fully funded in school budgets on an ongoing basis."
