Laura Doel, director of NAHT Cymru, the school leaders' union in Wales, said: “We agree with Education Minister Kirsty Williams that schools should only re-open when the scientific evidence is clear that it is safe to do so. Safe for pupils, safe for staff, safe for parents. Schools in Wales will welcome the clarity she has given them on schools remaining closed after the Easter holidays.
“We also welcome the announcement of increased funding for school counselling services. This is an anxious time for us all, and school leaders in Wales have been particularly concerned about the impact Covid-19 will have on children going back into school.”
