Paul Whiteman, general secretary of school leaders’ union NAHT, said: “Sixth forms and colleges have been particularly hard hit by cuts to education funding. That directly impacts the quality of education and opportunities for young people at a crucial moment in their lives, as they launch into the world of work or higher education, and make important decisions about their futures.
“The issue of school and college funding isn’t going away. The government has tried to ignore it, but more and more groups are making their voices heard. School leaders, teachers, governors, local government, parents, charities, think tanks, and research institutions, all agree: Only new money from the Treasury will solve the school funding crisis.”
