Responding to a report published by Ofsted today (Wednesday 8 January) into the number of schools that have not been judged good or better since 2006, Nick Brook, deputy general secretary of school leaders' union NAHT, said:
“85 per cent of schools are now good or better but that rising tide of improvement has not lifted all boats. If we want to help those schools that are ‘stuck’ we must urgently rebalance holding them to account with helping them to improve.”
