NAHT’s Annual Conference, set for 7-10 May 2020, will no longer take place as planned. Considering the current health crisis, it would not be sensible to proceed with the event.
Cardiff City Hall, the venue for NAHT’s 2020 Annual Conference, has cancelled all their events bookings for the foreseeable future, so an alternative venue would need to be found even if the government lifts restrictions on social distancing before the planned date.
NAHT is currently looking at what options there are to hold its annual conference, or a version of it, in the Autumn term and we will let you know as soon as possible about revised arrangements.
In the meantime, NAHT intends to observe the traditional handover of presidential duties and we will have more details about that process shortly. Tim Bowen will assume the role of Vice President.
For the next several weeks, NAHT’s focus will be on helping its members to deal with the school-level response to the Coronavirus outbreak. The effort that we would have put into organising our annual conference will now be diverted into that important work.
We would like to thank delegates, officials and exhibitors for their patience and understanding during this difficult period.
