Primary Futures, developed by NAHT and Education and Employers, connects primary schools for free to volunteers from a wide range of jobs and different backgrounds – from apprentices to CEOs, archaeologists to zoologists.
Simply go to the Primary Futures website to search for volunteers and send them a message. You could invite them to chat to children about what they do and how learning in school links to the wider world.
Activities range across school life and include: What's My Line (guess the job of the volunteer); volunteers bringing learning to life by showing how maths, English and science are used in the workplace; and events aimed at challenging gender stereotyping, broadening and raising aspirations.
There are now 38,000 people all of whom are keen to get involved and help. Email Jessica.firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 020 7566 4880 if you have any questions.
