Have your say on the government’s mental health reforms

mental health.jpg

The government’s green paper, Transforming children and young people’s mental health provision, sets out major changes to its approach to children and young people’s mental health. Alongside the public online consultation, the National Children’s Bureau will be hosting a national consultation event on behalf of the Department for Education and Department of Health and Social Care as part of the official consultation process.

The green paper proposes a range of reforms aimed at improving mental health support for children and young people, with a focus on the role of schools and colleges, offering support earlier and reducing service waiting times. This event will enable attendees to share their views and experience directly with government officials and inform the plans as they develop.

The event is open to parents and practitioners from a range of sectors, including social care, mental health, voluntary sector, early years, schools and colleges, and special educational needs and disability.

The event will be held on 6 March 2018 from 1pm to 4pm, in Leeds, The Queens Hotel, City Square, Leeds LS1 1PJ
