Teaching leaders is Ambition School Leadership's flagship programme for high-potential middle leaders. It is designed to address educational disadvantage and improve outcomes for children. The programme blends leadership coaching, face-to-face training, peer support and online learning with tailored content for primary practitioners. It can support you in the following ways.
To transform your leadership team and improve pupils' outcomes
- At key stage two, low-attaining pupils in primary schools with teaching leaders participants outperform those in all schools by nine per cent in maths, six per cent in reading and seven per cent in writing
- Disadvantaged pupils make more progress on average in departments with teaching leaders than in similar schools without
- Middle leaders who lead on English and maths achieve better results than those in similar schools.
To retain and develop your best teachers
Teaching leaders participants commit to staying in their schools for the duration of the programme while they work on a substantial impact project linked to your school's improvement plan.
The Department for Education makes a significant contribution to the cost of the programme, so it is only available to those working in schools in challenging contexts.
If you're interested in nominating your middle leaders, you can register interest on the Ambition School Leadership's website or email Kate Walters (firstname.lastname@example.org) to discuss your school's needs.
