The Chartered College of Teaching (the professional body for teachers) is now accepting applications to join the next cohort of its chartered teacher programme (CTeach). They are encouraging head teachers and leaders to share with their colleagues and nominate teachers to take part.
Fantastic teaching is happening in classrooms across the country every single day. Chartered teacher status recognises excellent teachers and their skills, knowledge and behaviours in delivering the best possible education for children and young people.
What’s the programme about?
Whereas other CPD programmes may have leadership in mind, CTeach is focused on classroom practice. Over 14 months, teachers will undertake a range of assessments and learning to develop and showcase their knowledge and skills.
How can it benefit your staff?
Chartered teacher status celebrates high-quality teaching practice which can change lives. Participating in the programme can support the personal and professional development of your staff while also developing the knowledge of effective classroom practice.
It also benefits the whole teaching profession. Chartered teachers are committed to supporting the development of other teachers – sharing their insight to foster a spirit of collaboration and learning across their school and beyond. At its heart is the drive to raise the status of the profession for current and future generations.
If you have a member of staff with at least three years of teaching experience who would benefit from the chartered teacher programme, encourage them to find out more. Visit chartered.college/chartered-teacher or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
“At last, there is a way to accredit excellence in the classroom, a way forward for those who want to develop and refine their practice.” Isabel, chartered teacher participant.
