NAHT is working with SAFERjobs, a non-profit organisation created by the Metropolitan Police, which aims to protect job seekers and agency staff from exploitation, by preventing labour market exploitation, reducing employment fraud, recruitment company abuse and modern slavery.
SAFERjobs promotes a code of practice which recruitment companies can sign up to, offering employers greater security and certainty about the standards that can be expected when sourcing agency staff or recruiting permanently through an agency.
SAFERjobs has recently partnered with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) in response to the targeting of job applicants for excessive or fraudulent payment for DBS checks by rogue agencies or individuals.
The SAFERjobs website contains a wealth of useful information and can be used to report suspicious, fraudulent or sharp recruitment practices.
