NAHT has been at the forefront of discussions with the Department for Education and government ministers throughout the pandemic, consistently calling for essential support for special schools and alternative provision.
We understand the unique pressures you face supporting children with a range of complex needs during this challenging time.
This specially tailored event will look at what colleagues are doing in leading their settings, provide you with the latest information and share different approaches so that you can make the right decisions for your children and staff.
It will also give you a chance to feedback to us directly on some of the questions you need answers from the government on.
- Paul Whiteman, NAHT general secretary
- Ruth Davies, NAHT president
- Marijke Miles, NAHT SEND committee chair
- Sabrina Hobbs, principal at Severndale Specialist Academy
- Rob Gasson, alternative provision representative for NAHT's SEND council.
During the event, we will run a number of live polls and launch a national survey of the sector.
Everyone is welcome
This free event (on 4 June at 7pm) is open to head teachers and principals working in special schools and alternative provision. We encourage you to share details about it with your colleagues both in and outside of NAHT.
Please note: this event will not cover SEND provision in mainstream schools.
