Public Sector Connect is hosting the Managing the School Estate Summit on 24 March 2021. The event is supported by the Department for Education’s Capital team.
This event will take place entirely online and there is no charge to attend for those directly employed by a school or public sector body.
The focus will be on the school estate and the importance of strategic estate management. During the summit, there will be discussions on the skills, tools and guidance needed to ensure proper maintenance of schools over the next few years. It will cover the challenges that responsible bodies will need to overcome, procurement procedures and ways to save money. Other key areas of learning for delegates will include governance, performance management, data management, health and safety and much more. It will also give delegates the opportunity to network with their peers and engage with stakeholder organisations.
There will also be a chance to pose questions to an expert panel at the end of the day. Further details are to be announced - for more information, you can visit the event website and book your place.
The event follows the launch of the updated Good Estate Management for Schools (GEMS) guidance in October 2020. It is aimed at anyone involved in school estate management, from those who are new to the role to those who wish to extend and build their expertise.
