NAHT is continuing to press Ofqual and the exam boards regarding the accreditation of specifications for reformed GCSE, AS and A levels for first teaching in September 2017. The longer this process takes, the greater the pressure on schools to prepare adequately. NAHT has been clear that we do not want to see a repeat of last year when some specifications for first teaching in September 2016 were not accredited until well into the Summer Term.
Ofqual updates a summary of progress regularly, including a useful table which shows each examination board and the progress of their specification in a subject. You can find this here.
As of 23 December 2016, 13 of 26 GCSE subjects have at least 1 specification accredited. 9 of 26 subjects have all specifications accredited.10 of 20 AS and A level subjects have at least 1 specification accredited. 7 of 20 subjects have all specifications accredited.
Where specifications are not yet accredited, exam boards do have their draft versions available online which may help schools in selecting the right specification for their students. The following links will take you to the relevant page for each of the boards:
