The National Association of School Business Managers (NASBM) launched a new set of professional standards for school business managers (SBMs) in November 2015. NAHT was involved in their development and has endorsed these standards because they can support both NAHT's SBM members and their head teacher/principal in planning their professional development and recruiting to new roles. This advice introduces these standards and sets out how they should be used.
These standards will apply to professionals working across the maintained, the non-maintained and the 'independent sector' where each school will typically have equivalent roles generally operating at greater degrees of complexity.
