Human rights framework for restraint: information from the Equality and Human Rights Commission

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has produced a document called the human rights framework for restraint: principles for the lawful use of physical, chemical, mechanical and coercive restrictive interventions. It is designed to ensure that people working in healthcare, detention and education settings are even more fully aware as to the legal position regarding the use of restraint.

In this guidance document, we look at the seven key aspects of the Equality and Human Rights Commission's framework for restraint.
