A school leader's guide to Ramadan in 2020 and its impact on SATs and GCSEs

This year, 2020, Ramadan – a month-long period of Islamic prayer, fasting, self-control and goodwill to others – and the test and exam season coincide again; this coincidence will continue in 2021. This year, Ramadan is predicted to start on the evening of Thursday 23 April, depending on the sighting of the moon, and it will end at sundown on Saturday 23 May.
