A practical guide on school trips

school trip.jpg

School trips are, for many, a highlight of the year and an exciting element of the curriculum. A successful school trip will often leave long-lasting impressions on those attending. We would like those impressions to be positive and so have produced this short guide for members who are planning or who have already planned their trip as a 'ready-reckoner'.

Wherever you are in the planning process, this is an invaluable guide to ensuring that such trips pass without incident and where the associated risks are able to be minimised.

In light of fresh advice from the DfE, notes on EYFS school trip staff to pupil ratios and refreshed guidance references from the government, the Health and Safety Executive and the Outdoor Education Advisers' Panel (OEAP), we have simply revised our advice and guidance.
