Model lockdown procedures


In the unlikely event that a school and its occupants are subjected to a potential and immediate threat or danger, it is likely the school will need to move to a status of 'lockdown'.  

Our advice will help school leaders to develop a policy and practice that ensures a school can effectively move to a status of 'lockdown' and, more importantly, how its duty of care can be discharged to pupils, staff, visitors and parents.

'Lockdown' is a particularly appropriate item for an INSET day.
