Gender separation in mixed schools

Gender web.jpg
The Department for Education published non-statutory guidance in June this year to support mixed schools in identifying what is expected in relation to separation by sex. As the guidance is non-statutory it is not mandatory to follow it, however, adhering to it is good evidence of complying with the overriding statutory duties placed on schools by the Equality Act 2010. The guidance applies to all maintained and independent schools, academies and free schools.
