The management and handling of a great deal of a school's data is done so under the current legislative framework enshrined in the Data Protection Act 1998. Next year, 2018, will mark the 20th anniversary of this legislation and the commencement of revised arrangements that are currently referred to as the General Data Protection Framework (GDPR). The GDPR will come into force on 25 May 2018 and will effectively replace the current Data Protection framework.
