Maths Mastery

The Department for Education (DfE) has announced it will be funding an initiative to help around half of England's primary schools to develop the 'mastery' approach for the teaching of mathematics in 2016/17. 

Although a primary initiative, some secondary schools have also engaged in this pedagogical approach. 

This document seeks to provide a broad outline of what makes mastery a distinctive approach.
