For middle leaders

NAHT Edge is a category of NAHT membership specifically for middle leaders. We offer tailored support and services for middle leaders, online advice and resources, and full trade union protection to give you peace of mind.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible to join NAHT Edge, you need have a leadership responsibility within an education setting. Roles that are eligible include ALENCO, SENCO, phase leaders and subject leaders. This is not an exhaustive list and if you would like further clarification please email joinus@naht.org.uk.

Childnet International: ensuring that all children are educated about online safety

Childnet works directly with children and young people from the ages of 3 to 18 as well as parents, carers, teachers and professionals.

At the heart of its work is the belief that when used properly the internet is a wonderfully positive tool for children and young people. It strives to take a balanced approach, making sure that it promotes positive opportunities, as well as responding to the risks and equipping children and young people to deal with them.

Support for education professionals:
Advice on key topics: detailed information on a range of key online safety topics including sexting, grooming and social media.
Advice about best professional practice, including use of social media and technology at home and in school.
Help for specific concerns including reporting, responding to disclosures and safeguarding queries.
Resources including lesson plans, leaflets and video content for all phases.

The website also provides a parent and carer hub where parents can find information and resources to help them support their child to have a happy and safe online experience.

There is an activity zone for primary aged children where they can access online safety advice, watch videos, play quizzes or learn the SMART rules and the Childnet Hub for young people aged 11-18.
