British Council Connecting Classrooms

The British Council is currently inviting applications from clusters of schools and their local authorities (or federations) to work with partner schools and districts in the following regions:

  • Europe and neighbouring regions

  • Middle East

  • Near East and North Africa

To apply, a cluster of schools needs to be supported by its local authority/federation, as well as co-ordinated by either the same local authority/federation or a body such as the Youth Sport Trust, Specialist Schools and Academies Trust. The application deadline for both of these regions is 4th May 2010.

To find out more about how the programme works and the application process, please go to the Connecting Classrooms website and click on 'How to get involved', then follow the links for the regions of the world in which you are interested.

Future application rounds

Looking ahead, there will be two further application rounds for Connecting Classrooms within the next year:

  • Apply by 8th October 2010 to work with partners in India, Sri Lanka, countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, or the Near East and North Africa.

  • Apply by 4th February 2011 to work with partners in China or countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

We will publish further information on our website and notify you directly about these application rounds 3-4 months before each deadline. In the meantime, please put the dates in your diary and pass them on to your contacts, so that they can plan ahead should they wish to submit an application.

If you, or your contacts, have any questions about any of the above, please contact the Connecting Classrooms team at connectingclassrooms@britishcouncil.org
