Issues Currently Facing Early Years Providers

The Association is very aware of the issues facing early years providers currently, both in terms of changes to provision and the implementation of the single funding formula across all providers. We are working with members to bring these issues to the attention of government with a view to resolving some of the difficulties.

The implementation of the single funding formula and its potential impact is of particular concern at the moment. We have had a series of meetings with officials from the Department for Children Schools and Families and the Treasury to raise members' concerns. Links with other organisations, such as Early Education and Together for Children, have also been established. Today, October 6, Mick Brookes, General Secretary, is meeting with the Secretary of State, Ed Balls, specifically to raise this issue.

Where members have specific concerns regarding either the single funding formula or the changes to provision, they should contact Kathryn James via email, kathrynj@naht.org.uk
