Members will be aware that additional guidance has been issued to local authorities regarding Early Years and the single funding formula. This was sent to authorities with a letter from the Minister, Dawn Primarola. Both the guidance and the letter are available here.
Authorities are asked by the Minister to review their single funding formula in the light of the guidance and also having regard to the presumption against closure of maintained nursery schools. Members are advised, therefore, to have regard to the guidance and to ensure that the authority (including School Forum members) is aware and takes account of this advice.
