The Secondary Leadership Papers and Primary Leadership Papers, under the skillful editorship of Hilary Street, were a hallmark publication of the National Association of Head Teachers for over 10 years.
Hilary contributed massively to thought in educational leadership over that time and NAHT hugely valued her work. When Hilary chose to move on from her role I was asked to take responsibility for the series. As part of our regular discussions on the direction of the papers Hilary and I often felt that there was a need to change the way the series worked to create something that was more flexible in its coverage of education leadership issues and the many phases that NAHT supports. The terms 'Primary' and 'Secondary' education had become too limiting for the series.
The 'Education Leadership' papers seek to explore issues with more breadth where necessary, whilst also reserving the right to be phase specific if that becomes appropriate.
