Avoidance of Disputes: NAHT/ NUT Joint Protocol

We are pleased to report that a significant bilateral agreement on the avoidance of disputes in England and Wales has been reached between the NAHT and the NUT. The NUT executive endorsed the agreement at its meeting on 7 June 2007, as did the NAHT National Council at its meeting on 29 June 2007. This agreement reflects the positive relationship between the two organisations and is in the interests of the education service as well as both organisations.

Both the NAHT and NUT are committed to working together to secure a good education for children and young people and to develop good working conditions for all staff. The protocol is a practical and beneficial step to deal with disputes which, from time to time, may arise in schools. Accordingly, its use will be promoted throughout both organisations.

The joint letter and protocol is available by following the link attached. Any queries should be directed to the Democracy and Governance department at HQ 01444 472435 or at democracyandgovernance-distribution@naht.org.uk
