Special Education Consortium wants your views on EHCP transfers

The Special Education Consortium (SEC) is acting on concerns that a lack of resources in local areas means many children with statements are not receiving their full entitlement to an EHC needs assessment and the EHC plans from this process are of poor quality. To understand local authorities' practice, the SEC is now seeking evidence of whether or not this is the case.

The SEC has released a short survey on the process for transferring children from statements to EHC plans and would like to know more about the process in your local area.

The survey is for any group, professional or organisation with an overview of the transfer process in a local area, including parents, carers and young people's groups (please note, the SEC is not seeking the views of individual parents, carers or young people at this stage).

The survey should take about five to 10 minutes to complete. You are asked for your email address and the name of your organisation, so the SEC can inform you of the outcome of the survey. However, all responses will be treated confidentially.

Take part in the survey.
