The National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) has sent a survey to its members to gauge views on the outcome of the pensions talks which concluded before Christmas.
Russell Hobby, general secretary of the NAHT, said: “We agreed before Christmas that we had taken negotiations as far as they could go and it was time to formally consult our members. We will be doing so during January with a special meeting of our National Executive at the end of the month (Monday 30 January) to take a vote. If the executive decides to reject the offer, the NAHT will continue to fight; if it decides to accept the offer, negotiations will continue. We don’t make decisions of this magnitude behind closed doors and we don’t play politics with members’ livelihoods.”
