The government’s promise to reform the national school funding formula could be translated into action when the subject is put out to consultation this spring.
NAHT has taken the lead to get the public debate started, and to make sure the rights of school children are not overshadowed by political debate.
We canvassed the views of thought-leaders from all sides of the debate including head teachers, expert commentators, and political advisors on education policy. Their views are published in Fair Funding – getting it right, which explores what a revised funding formula for schools could look like.
To give NAHT members a leading voice in the debate, ahead of the government’s consultation in spring, the collection of essays has been delivered to the Department for Education, the Education Select Committee, MPs and the media.
