Pearson is conducting a consultation into the public examinations system.
NAHT was invited to attend a seminar lunch at the think tank 'Reform' recently. The theme was the current state of the examinations system. The event was attended by educationalists from all phases and settings and there was a high degree of consensus about the ills if not the remedies. The dimensions of Pearson's consultation reflect this and, in particular, addresses the consensus emerging from the seminar that curriculum and assessment have become dislocated. Some may take the view that Pearson, being Edexcel's parent company, cannot be seen as being disinterested in this matter. However, others may take the view that this is in the public domain and is raising questions that are of concern and interest to practitioners.
