Moving forward: setting the agenda

Special schools, specialist and alternative provision conference 2013

The Nottingham Belfry, Nottingham

Thursday 28 February to Friday 1 March

The green paper ‘Support and Aspiration: a new approach to special educational needs and disability’ proposes significant changes to the provision of SEND services. There are wide ranging proposals in the paper, underpinned by the ‘Children and Families Bill’ and combined with the new Education, Health and Care Plans these changes represent part of the biggest reforms to SEND provision in 30 years.

NAHT’s conference for special schools and mainstream schools with specialist provision will give you the opportunity to examine the key issues, challenges and opportunities that will affect the delivery of special educational needs and disability services for years to come.

It will also provide an opportunity to network with colleagues, share good practice and debate the issues that you are currently facing.

The conference has been designed to:

  • inspire, stimulate and empower those working in special schools, specialist and alternative provision

  • share current educational thinking and examples of effective SEND practice

  • provide networking and collaboration opportunities

  • provide practical advice, ideas and support

Eminent and respected keynote speakers include:
