Raising the Bar - Driving School Improvement

Raising the Bar

Course description

This course is designed particularly for schools wishing to move from 'satisfactory' to 'good' or 'good' to 'outstanding'.  The emphasis will be on leadership and management at all levels, as a way of helping all stakeholders to have ownership of, and responsibility for, an effective improvement agenda.  This will include a short input on performance management.

The course facilitator will guide you through the inspection framework in depth to help you check the accuracy of what you assess as current strengths.  You will then focus on areas that are preventing you crossing the next grade boundary.  Throughout the day, practical activities will be linked directly to the prioritisation of specific improvement planning points with measurable success criteria.

Please note that this course will cover approximately 25% of the content included in "Understanding the New Inspection Framework" and some elements of "Self Evaluation: an effective and practical guide to school improvement".  However, it does have a different central focus and alternative activities.
