From Performance Management to Appraisal - Implementing the 2012 Regulations

Course description

This course will ensure that school leaders are able to access up-to-date information in order to lead and implement the New Performance Management Guidance, issued in January, 2012.

 

This course will enable you to:

 

  • understand the guidance
  • reflect on current practice
  • identify areas for development
  • begin to plan for the effective implementation of the new process
  • consider how to encourage all stakeholders to see performance management as a key driver for school improvement

Aims of this course

  • exploring the revised statutory regulations and considering the strategic implications 
  • analysing the Teachers' Standards and their application across the school
  • reflecting on current arrangements and the implications of the new regulations on appraisers and appraisees
  • reviewing new Appraisal links to Pay, CPD, Teachers' Standards and Capability
  • consideration of all stakeholders and how they can be informed of the changes
  • exploring how to encourage engagement and active participation of all stakeholders
  • production of an action plan
