The session will cover the concerns with which members typically approach HQ for advice and guidance. It will be an interactive process.

Delegates will return to school with a broader understanding of the exclusions process (including appeals) both in terms of the statutory position and good practice in carrying out the process. This will be underpinned by an understanding of the differences between the previous and revised DfE guidance documents.  
This session will be led by NAHT Specialist Adviser Joanne Richardson

1530-1700 - Dealing with Parental Complaints      

This session offers practical advice and support in dealing with parental complaints/concerns. Content includes:

  • The importance of having a robust and clear procedure
  • Building confidence in dealing with challenging behaviours
  • Resolving matters effectively
  • Managing persistent/serial complainants
